Amber Gunstream

Amber, founder of Kindred Idaho, offers a broad base of knowledge as an Existential Health Practitioner and Certified Nature & Forest Therapy Guide.  Her own journey has led her to be deeply committed to her work, particularly helping people navigate religious deconstruction, religious trauma, existential crisis, meaning-making, and identity building.  She loves integrating nature, seasonal rhythms, and ritual in ways that make this journey deeply meaningful and integrated.   She brings a sense of warmth, emotional literacy and companionship to this work and finds it a privilege to hold and honor the stories of those who have courageously stepped outside harmful systems to build lives of meaning, authenticity and flourishing.

Amber currently works as a Trainer for the Center for Non-Religious Spirituality’s Existential Health Practitioner Training Program. She also works part-time as a Horticulturist and Nature & Forest Therapy Guide.  She holds a degree in Psychology and additional certifications in Spiritual Formation, Non-Religious Spiritual Direction, and Interfaith/Interspiritual Competency.

Existential Health Practitioner

Existential Health is an emerging field of inquiry and practice focusing on the realities of human existence. These realities include meaning, identity, belonging, freedom and responsibility, uncertainty, mortality, love, suffering, and transcendence.

As an EHP, Amber helps individuals in exploring existence itself and developing capacities to address life’s deepest questions with honesty, discernment, and compassion.

Nature & Forest Therapy Guide

Nature & Forest therapy, sometimes called forest bathing is a practice that supports physical & mental health and wellness through guided immersion in nature.

A forest therapy session includes an intentional sequence of sensory invitations to help slow down and connect with yourself and nature in a meaningful way. A typical forest therapy session is leisurely, accessible, and open to a range of ages and physical conditions.
